Turnbull Coalition’s kite flying to abolish the 457 Scam is just another diversionary con

Turnbull:

“Just back from selling out Australia to corrupt Adani-Modi Inc. in India, and read Donald Trump’s Hire Americans campaign to scrap the H-1B foreign worker visas.  It’s given me an innovative idea to divert media away from Adani and from pesky Abbott chiding…I call it my Abolish 457 Con.”

Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull has announced yesterday that he’s gunna abolish John Howard’s 457 visas, first introduced twenty years ago in 1996 to facilitate replacing Australian workers with foreign scabs.

Howard’s 457 Visas remain the so-called ‘Temporary’ Work (Skilled) Visa (subclass 457), where ‘skilled’ just means ‘can work’.

Turnbull, guilt-ridden from his corrupt agreement with the dodgy Indian billionaire, needs a media good news distraction from Martin Parkinson‘s PR suggestion box.  Turnbull says jobs must go to Australians first, as if he’s been reading our website.

Turnbullcrap:

“We have and we always will be an immigration nation, but we must ensure that the foundation of that success is maintained and the foundation is that our migration system is seen to work in the national interest.  We’re abolishing 457 visas, the visas which bring temporary foreign workers into our country.”

Actually, he’s not.

He’s just renaming 457s to another number like ‘458’ and adjusting the list of available job categories by 200, so foreign goat herders for instance are now excluded.  The term is reduced from four years to two years, but this can be renewed anyway.

The replacement backdoor visa scam doesn’t take effect for another year.  So what’s the urgency announcement for and not just put in the May Budget?  Well, it’s more Mal policy kite flying, making the ‘tough decisions’ like his kite flying of his 15% GST idea, capital gains tax idea, negative gearing idea, and Senate omnibusing. Chuck it out a line and see if the plebs bite.

Those foreigners already scamming 457 visas can keep doing so under some grandfathering exemption.  Those on other backdoor immigration visas can continue back-dooring immigration as well.

So the following visas are NOT changed:

  • Electronic Travel Authority (subclass 601)
  • eVisitor (subclass 651)

So bugger all foreign scabs will be affected, and the net cost to Australia’s national interest?

State and Federal Governments will still be able to get around the smoke and mirror changes by using the Skilled Nominated Visa (190 visa subclass) or the Consolidated Sponsored Occupations List (CSOL) scheme.

This means that if a foreigner knows fellow ethnics in a government department, they can nominate their countrymen ahead of Aussies to get a job.  All they need to is scream ‘Equity and Diversity‘ and you’re in like Flynn, ahead of qualified and experienced Aussies!

See list of government job options for foreigners below – Australia’s the Third World’s oyster!

If Mal is reading our website about putting Australians first then he should read our nationalist Blue Paper on Conditional Citizenship, which includes a genuine overhaul of the scam visa system.

Else stop bullshitting Australians as if we are mugs!

A rose by any other name would smell foul

Last September, 2016 there were 95,757 workers in Australia on primary 457 visas.  Changing the visa name from ‘457 ‘will make scrap all difference to Australia’s national interest, or to the work prospects or vocational training opportunities of Ordinary Australians and their families.

Mal says foreign scab employers like 7-Eleven, Gina Rinehart and Gerry Harvey (below) will have to undertake mandatory labour market testing, like putting job adverts on Gum Tree.

Scab!

Skilled migrants will have to be able to spell ‘English’ without an interpreter. Mal says “It will require a proper police record, a criminal check, which is not the case at the moment.”

That’s reassuring.

Those checks will apply to countries of origin in civil war where the records offices have been completely bombed (think Middle East and Africa).

And Pauline Hanson claims she was the inspiration behind the 457 visa renaming.

“My office or yours Malcolm”.

Else migrants can still get a visa under the Consolidated Sponsored Occupations List (CSOL) Scheme, as follows:
