Greece’s grassroots nationalist movement in the Golden Dawn has just held a pre-emptive meeting downunder in Sydney to formally establish a supportive splinter group.

Media releases had publicly indicated that Golden Dawn was to stage a ‘stealth visit’ from tomorrow in Australia to raise money and meet local supporters in Sydney and Melbourne.

The Media release ran that Georgios Epitideios and Michalis Giannagkonas were due to arrive in Sydney for a series of events before travelling down to Melbourne.

Well, a more significant event has already happened below the media radar, and reports Voithame Tin Ellada has been most beneficial.

Golden Dawn’s local splinter group downunder “Sunrise Breakfast” held an informal series of meetings discussing a variety of topics from immigration to Brisbane’s G20, cause recruitment and Greek Trade.  Secret visits were made to the Cenotaph on November 1, to the Sydney Jewish Museum and down to Cronulla for that big breakfast.  Other discussions included a Christmas Fundraiser to be held on Sydney Harbour and options for a Cronulla 2015.

Thanks go out to Jamie at The Red Rattler in Marrickville, despite being in the heart of Green Left Weekly territory, for his open-minded co-operation to allow a light informal gathering.
